The Legal Partners is a highly respected, 5 star rated  law firm, based in Teddington and Richmond, London. We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Legal Assistant to join our dynamic, close knit team of commercial lawyers based in Teddington.

We specialise in Employment and HR Law, Business law, Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution,  advising businesses of all sizes, across multiple sectors,  from local owner managed firms to SMEs, charities, as well as national and international employers.

Salary and package: commensurate with experience.

What we are looking for:

The role would suit a graduate who has passed SQE1 and is looking to study SQE 2  and a clear path to qualification. A genuine interest in business, enthusiasm for working with business leaders and HR managers and a can do attitude are important.

You will need to be  excited by the prospect of a highly varied legal day, with lots of direct client contact, working closely with high quality, interesting commercial clients.

To enjoy and thrive in the role, you will be commercially minded and excited by the opportunity to advise on:

  • HR Law – employment contracts, settlement agreements and Employment Tribunal Claims, working with barristers, providing training seminars to our HR Director & Business clients
  • Business Law – buying and selling businesses, raising finance, negotiating commercial contracts and business property leases and data protection
  • Litigation – resolving commercial disputes and conducting Court litigation with barristers and settling claims in the County Court

With solid support behind you, you will enjoy building your client handling skills, advising clients and proposing solutions to commercial issues and using your excellent legal drafting and analysis skills.

You will have excellent IT skills, be familiar with email, MS Word,  Excel and Adobe pdf creation systems or able to get quickly up to speed.

You will also value working locally, in a collaborative home working environment, and enjoy the opportunity to foster sticky relationships with clients, prospective clients and our network of Accountants and referrers in the local  Richmond business community.
